Several smaller versions of the medals were minted and given to high officials also in gilt, silver and bronze.

Participation medals are the same design as Cortina 1956 prize medals both on the front and back. Three different finishes were made in gilt bronze, silver and bronze. Gilt and silvered medals were given to dignitaries and officials, and bronze medals given to athletes.
