Gold-colored, aluminum alloy, triangular torch perforated by 8,000 circles in reference to the 8,000 torchbearers and the 8,000 miles of the Olympic relay in the United Kingdom. Games emblem in upper portion of torch on front of torch. 31.5 inches high.

The triangular shape of the torch represents the three multiples of three focused on the Games: the Olympic Games three values of excellence, friendship and respect; the Olympic motto of Citius, Altius, Fortius; the tri-vision of the 2012 Games of sport, education and culture; as well as noting the three times London hosted the Games (1908, 1948, 2012).
