Olympic Winter Games Torino 2006 Official Torch

Blue polymer coated aluminum alloy torch with "Torino 2006" and Games emblem with Olympic rings on front. Thirteen holes on top to give the allusion of fire surrounding the torch to resemble a traditional wooden torch. 30.3 inches high.

The shape of the Torino Olympic torch is similiar to a ski tip as well as represents the the monument symbol of Turin: the Mole Antonelliana.

The route of the torch relay stopped in Cortina d'Ampezzo exactly 50 years to the day after the opening of the Olympic Winter Games held there in 1956.
