White, recycled aluminum, expandable torch with the emblem of the Rio Olympic Games at top. Design reflects the meeting of the Olympic flame with the human warmth of the Brazilian people. Five vertical sections of gold, blue and green expand to full height when torch comes into contact with the flame. Small triangles on the body of the torch represent the Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect. 27.5 inches high.

The colorful layers in the Rio Olympic torch reflect the ground (Copacabana Promenade), the sea (blue ocean ripples), the mountains (green natural beauty surrounding Rio), and the sky at the top with the yellow sun (the flame) as well as the colors in the Brazilian flag.
