Chrome-plated aluminium asymmetrical torch with circular top. Emblem of the Games and "XXV Olimpiada Barcelona 1992" in gold on flat front of handle. The circular torch bowl is reminiscent of a cauldron. The conical and triangular shapes of handle are inspired by the narrow neck of amphora style vases popular in Ancient Greece and the Lanteen style sail. 26 inches high.

The Barcelona torch reflects directionality in order to be more dynamic and to point at its own North, Barcelona. The shape of burner head was designed to indicate the final destination of the flame, the Olympic cauldron.
