Fun fact(s):
Golfers represented Golf Clubs instead of nations in the 36-hole team event. Individual gold medalist H. Chandler Egan captained the Western Golf Association team that included his brother, Walter. The Western Golf Association team won gold, Trans-Mississippi silver and the USGA team claimed bronze.

H. Chandler Egan defended his US Amateur title in 1905, and represented America in the Walker Cup in 1934. He became a highly respected golf course designer, and worked alongside Alistair Mackenzie, one of the most celebrated golf architects in history who created Augusta National with Bobby Jones.
More Info:
For the first and only time, prize medals for the Olympic Games were pinned to the athletes' chest.

The design of the two sides of the track and field prize medals was inspired by the medal of the Athens 1896 Games and Paris 1900 Games.

The Gordy and Dona Crawford Collection also includes a solid gold prize medal for men's basketball.
