Nadia Comaneci (Romania) continued her dominance in women's gymnastics first displayed in 1976. In Moscow, she won two more silver and two more gold medals. In 1989, Comaneci defected from Romania. In 1996, she married Bart Conner and became an American citizen. The United States boycotted these Games.
